Sealing envelopes
In principle, envelopes must be sealed on all sides.
Loose or projecting areas of envelopes risk getting caught on parts of the sorting machinery or on other items of mail.
Tip:
Side and top flaps should be rounded and the whole inside surface should be stuck to the external edge continuously up to a minimum of around 3 mm. Make sure that the sticking area on the envelope flap is definitely positioned on the envelope.
Caution!
Avoid leaving any remnants of glue on envelopes, as this could result in items getting stuck together, rendering machine sorting impossible. There is also a risk of items suffering damage when separating envelopes which have become stuck together.
