Extra options at a glance

Apart from the additional services, Swiss Post also offers other useful options. As a business, you can benefit from further services, such as Barcode Plus, business reply items or electronic COD.

Good for the environment, good for your image. Making your mail  carbon-neutral benefits not only the environment, but your business as well.

Insurance

  • This extra service is not available at the post office counter.
  • Your parcel is handed to the recipient against a signature.
  • Swiss Post is liable for losses resulting from damage or loss up to CHF 5,000  (except "B" securities pursuant to GTC)

Barcode plus

  • This extra service is not available at the post office counter.
  • Swiss Post will generate address labels for you with sender/recipient addresses, barcodes and product/service barcodes
  • Swiss Post will affix address labels to your bulk mailings
  • and barcodes to your individual items.

Electronic cash-on-delivery

  • You no longer have to complete COD receipts and affix them to your consignments.
  • Simply place the barcode, the additional electronic COD sticker and the recipient address on the parcel and hand it in as usual.
  • You transfer the mailing data to Swiss Post online.
  • The parcel will only be handed over to the recipient upon signature and cash payment of the COD amount.

Personal delivery

  • The item is personally delivered to the correct recipient with proof of delivery.
  • Delivery to natural persons only.
  • The recipient must provide identification.

Fragile

  • This extra service is not available at the post office counter.
  • We take special care when handling parcels with delicate contents.
  • Swiss Post is liable for claims resulting from damage or loss up to CHF 5,000.

Business reply items

  • The recipient can respond to offers, surveys and business letters without having to pay postage.
  • You only pay for the responses that are actually sent back.
  • The response rate is higher thanks to the pre-franked business reply envelope.
  • Responding is made easier for your customers.

Manual processing

  • A surcharge for standard parcels that cannot be automatically sorted due to the shape and material characteristics of the packaging and the placement of the address and the sender code.
  • The surcharge for manual processing is applied, for example, to all items up to 1m in size in rolls, triangles or pyramid-shaped packaging or canisters.
  • It is also applied to all items made of wood, leather or metal and if the sender code and recipient address are not positioned on the same side.

Signature

  • Your parcel is handed to the recipient against a signature.
  • Swiss Post is liable for losses resulting from damage or loss up to CHF 1,500 (except "B" securities pursuant to GTC).

Hazardous goods (LQ)

  • Consignments must have an LQ label
  • Consignments only handed over on a signed-for basis
  • Liability limits correspond to the basic service selected
  • Consignments can be tracked using the track & trace service

Evening delivery

  • Your parcel is delivered in the evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Delivery can be on the same day or on subsequent days.
  • Delivery not possible in all areas of Switzerland.
  • Data must be transferred electronically via the"Barcode" web service, DataTransfer or My Post Business.
  • Connection to the WS address checker is recommended. Connection to the Delivery web service is required.
  • Free notification by SMS or e-mail on request.
  • The consignment is delivered personally to the recipient's front door. If the recipient is not available, the consignment can be delivered in the storage compartment of the mailbox. If the consignment cannot be delivered, it is changed to daytime delivery. Free notification by SMS or e-mail is available on request.

Saturday delivery

  • Available in conjunction with the PostPac Priority and Bulky goods Priority basic services as well as the VinoLog solution.
  • Delivery takes place on Saturday during the day (except public holidays).
  • PostPac Priority consignments handed in before Friday are stored by Swiss Post until the next Saturday.
  • You send the shipping data to Swiss Post electronically using the "Barcode" web service (WSBC), DataTransfer or My Post Business "Hand in consignments".
  • Upon request, an automatic delivery notification will be sent to the recipient when an e-mail address or mobile phone number is specified.
  • This additional service is not available from post office counters.
