Press subsidies

Regional and local subscription newspapers and publications of non-profit making organisations benefit from the Federal Government indirect press subsidy.

Newspapers and magazines that meet the criteria of the Postal Act and associated ordinance are entitled to a reduction. The Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) determines whether the press subsidy will be granted.
