Environmentally friendly commuting
Swiss Post prefers public transportEvery day, Swiss Post employees travel over one million kilometres to work and back. To make this as environmentally friendly as possible, Swiss Post encourages its staff to use trains, buses and bikes.
Employee commuting contributes to global warming. However, a large proportion of employees are already using public transport. Swiss Post encourages this.
Free half-fare travel cards and discounts for general rail passes
In no other Swiss company do so many employees benefit from public transport discounts as at Swiss Post. All employees within the CEC receive a free half-fare travel card. If they prefer to have a general rail pass, they receive a 20 percent allowance for 2nd class travel. All trainees receive a general rail pass free of charge.
Business travel: environmentally friendly is best
As a rule, public transport is used for business travel. Free day-return tickets are available for this purpose. If a car is absolutely essential, pool cars are available. To make maximum use of these vehicles, a sharing model is used – cars that are used by Swiss Post employees during the day can be used by other people in the evenings and overnight. Swiss Post employees also have access to Mobility CarSharing vehicles.
Cycling – healthy and emission-free
Swiss Post encourages its employees to cycle to work, for example by supporting the Pro Velo „Bike-to-Work“ initiative. For around a month, employees cycle part of their journey to work.
