One of a kind in Switzerland

Museum of Communication in Berne

The Museum of Communication is dedicated to communication and the history of communication. Together with Swisscom, Swiss Post is a founding partner of the former Post Museum.

With its collections and exhibitions ranging from love letters to historical postage stamps to the language of animals, the Museum of Communication in Berne is one of a kind in Switzerland. It provides information about past and current aspects of transport, tourism, postal services and philately, radio and television. It also showcases new information and communication technologies, as well as new media.

Focus on people

The Museum of Communication turns the spotlight on people rather than technology, focusing on the needs and experiences of its visitors. Interactive exhibitions enable more in-depth and stimulating visits: young and old alike can send pneumatic post, connect calls via a telephone exchange and discover their own communication style.

In addition to the three permanent exhibitions – "so near and yet so far: people and their media", "As Time Goes Byte” and "Imagery that sticks: the world of stamps" – the Museum of Communication also hosts a temporary exhibition each year.
