Swiss HR-Award 2010 goes to PostFinance
PostFinance wins the HR-Award 2010 – one of the most important prizes in the Swiss HR sector. In awarding the prize to PostFinance the jury honoured its outstanding achievements in Human Resource Management (HRM). By clinching this award at its very first attempt, PostFinance has sealed its reputation as an attractive employer.
For an entrant to win first prize at its very first attempt is very rare. PostFinance has pulled off this coup, proudly taking the coveted position at the top of the rostrum first time round. First of all PostFinance was required to complete a questionnaire on a range of HR issues. The answers were assessed by an independent jury*, who then visited PostFinance’s HR department, conducting a number of interviews and document analyses.
Substantial drop in days lost through sickness
The jury praised PostFinance’s excellent track record in Human Resource Management (HRM), its overall strategy, processes and instruments. A special mention went to the PostFinance health promotion scheme. Each year PostFinance organizes a health drive for its staff. This year’s topic, which ran by the name of “Rück-Halt”, aimed to promote back health and good posture at work. Thanks to this and other health measures, PostFinance has reduced the already low level of days lost through sickness by a further 35 percent, saving 2.8 million Swiss francs per year.
Employees are the greatest assets
Winning the Swiss HR-Award reinforces PostFinance's status as an attractive employer, which acknowledges the men and women who work for it as its greatest assets. The PostFinance personnel department, which has been honoured by the Swiss HR-Award, offers excellent services and benefits. PostFinance employees enjoy a range of opportunities for dynamic development. Thanks to these principles PostFinance has created around 1,500 full-time jobs throughout Switzerland since 1998. This year it is planning to create another 215 new jobs, most of them in providing financial advice to private and business customers.
