IncaMail, Swiss Post’s secure e-mail platform, has now been integrated by Totemo TrustMail® and SEPPMail, the two leading providers of SecureMail gateways for the dispatch of encrypted e-mails. Their customers can now also send electronically registered e-mails on request.  Furthermore, they will also be able to send eGovernment registered mail, as required by public authorities and courts by law as of 2011. Both new mailing options are processed via IncaMail, Swiss Post’s secure e-mail platform. These extra services are available with immediate effect.

As part of the Confederation’s new eGov directive, which enters into force on 1 January 2011, submissions to public authorities and the delivery of summons, court orders, decisions and other notifications can take place electronically. This requires the use of a recognized platform through which the confidentiality and integrity of the transmitted documents can be guaranteed. In addition, the solution must ensure that the punctual dispatch and receipt of the transmitted information can be confirmed. IncaMail meets these requirements and is now awaiting official confirmation from the Swiss Federal Department of Finance, which is currently carrying out tests on the secure e-mail solutions available in Switzerland at present.

Increasing demand for electronic registered mail

In light of these changes, sending mail in a secure and encrypted format is simply not enough for increasing numbers of customers. They want to have the option of using electronic registered mail and eGov-compliant e-mail. IncaMail, the electronic letter from Swiss Post, offers these mailing options. They are now available with immediate effect on the Totemo TrustMail® and SEPPmail platforms.

The many customers of the two providers can thus explore further possibilities. Swiss Post benefits from additional sales channels for its electronic registered mail. The partnership between the three providers of SecureMail solutions is a first for the market and supports the significant increase in demand for integrated end-to-end solutions.
