Basic information
Swiss Post is committed to extending electronic healthcare services with its innovative services in the field of IT-supported communication. To this end, it is pursuing three strategic thrusts.
Secure electronic authentication and secure dispatch
Thanks to SuisseID from Swiss Post, companies, organizations and private individuals can present proof of identity securely on the Internet and affix legally binding signatures to documents electronically. Data protection is guaranteed, thanks to the IncaMail secure e-mail solution, which is used to send documents so that they cannot be viewed by third parties. Swiss Post is involved in the launch of electronic health cards as part of the 2015 eHealth strategy. It is already producing the insurance cards with a microchip for the health insurance provider Helsana. The cards have been in use in Geneva since the autumn as part of the e-toile pilot project to network healthcare professionals, and are used for authentication purposes.
Transforming physical data into electronic data and vice versa
With its innovative document solutions, Swiss Post plays a key role in the digitization of information flows in the healthcare sector. This allows fast access to information that is required for treatment, irrespective of the location and time.
Swiss Post already offers an innovative solution for SNAIF (Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund), digitizing incoming mail for the SNAIF agencies throughout Switzerland. This enables SNAIF to boost the productivity and service quality of its correspondence and case management.
Integrating e-billing and e-payment solutions
Thanks to its electronic billing and payment solutions, Swiss Post is able to make a significant contribution to ensuring fast and efficient payment flows between service providers, cost centres and patients.
