“Unaddressed A Mail items” are suitable for mailing of official and commercial letters against cash payment. The mailshot is a next-day product, which – provided it is mailed on time – will be delivered the next day (Monday to Friday).

Advantages:

• Mailed today, delivered tomorrow (Mon – Fri)
• Can be handed in for mailing at any post office
• Can be mailed in commercial and official form

Products, prices and conditions

All prices include VAT. A minimum amount of CHF 30 applies for each mailing

Design

• No smaller than 14 x 9 cm
• The paper strength must be sufficient (weight of paper of 160 g/m2)
• Square or rectangular shape with a flat surface

Unaddressed A Mail item – official

"Official" items comprise mailshots of an official nature (e.g. from authorities, administrations and public entities) or mail items that satisfy a local need for information of the general public.

Examples of mail items of an official nature are:

• Items from municipalities and public enterprises
• Items from political parties

Mail items that satisfy a local need for information of the general public:

• Interruptions to power or water supply
• Death notices

Delivery: "Official items" are distributed to all households and private P.O. boxes, including those with a sticker saying "Stop – No advertising".

Unaddressed A Mail item – standard commercial

"Commercial items" comprise promotional mailshots.

For example:

• An invitation to the opening of a bakery in a town or village
• Flyers advertising goods and services
• Promotional flyers for private relocation services

Delivery: "Commercial items" are not delivered to letterboxes and private P.O. boxes with a sticker saying "Stop – No advertising".

Important notes

• Delivery requirements
  Mail items must be packaged in easily calculatable units (50, 100, 250, etc.) and separated by content and delivery location.
• Consignments of 50,000 or more items may be handed in for mailing only after advance announcement (1 day beforehand) at the corresponding post office.
• Grounds for exclusion
  Swiss Post delivers unaddressed A mail items on behalf of its customers to all households in Switzerland. In doing so, it has the right to reject items with offensive, defamatory or unlawful content. Compliance with statutory provisions is always the responsibility of the client.
